Psycho-Pass Blu-rays to Include Mini-Adventure Games

Nitro+, I.G collaborate on Chimi Chara Psycho-Pass with super-deformed characters

On Thursday, the official website for the Psycho-Pass television anime series announced the contents of the first Blu-ray/DVD volume, including an exclusive Blu-ray game bonus.

The first Blu-ray volume will bundle a Chimi Chara Psycho-Pass BD Game disc, which will feature a preview and first episode (pictured right and below in work-in-progress images). Nitroplus and Production I.G are producing this mini-adventure game which can play on most regular Blu-ray Disc players. The game's dialogue has been fully voiced by the anime's cast.

In the game's preview, the rookie Inspector Akane Tsunemori (Kana Hanazawa) is ordered by her superior Ginoza (Kenji Nojima) to promote the game. The game's first episode begins on the floor of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department, where the alarm goes off for an incident. Akane, still not yet used to her new job, captures a man who is spray-painting graffiti, but something is amiss.

The first volume will also contain the first two television episodes, the promotional videos for the first two episodes, the credit-less opening and ending animation sequences, and the previews for episodes #2 and #3. Only a Japanese Linear-PCM soundtrack is listed. The limited first pressing of the first volume will include an uncut scenario draft book with scenes that did not make the final cut of the first two episodes, an outer case with an exclusive illustration by Production I.G, and the first of three mail-away stubs for a ticket to a special event.

Online retailers are listing eight Blu-ray/DVD volumes for Psycho-Pass, with the eighth volume containing episodes 20 to 22, the uncut scenario draft book for those episodes, the Production I.G-illustrated outer case, and Chimi Chara Psycho-Pass BD Game episodes 10-12.

The Psycho Pass anime begin airing earlier this month in Japan on Fuji TV's notamina animation block. Funimation is simulcasting the series.
