Japanese Band Creates Incredible Animation Using 189 Spinning CDs

The new music video for Sour's "Life is Music" uses CDs to create short animated loops.
Japanese band Sour recently released a very unique animated video for their song, "Life is Music." Only instead of using traditional animation frames, they used 189 compact discs imprinted with different designs and images to create an animation effect similar to early phenakistoscopes.
The CDs were designed to display 17-frame loops to sync up with the song's 105 BPM, and even includes sequences of the band members playing their instruments.
