The staff of Anime NYC announced on Tuesday that it will host Shonen Jump editor-in-chief Yū Saitō and anime producer Kirito Iwashita at this year's event. The convention will also screen Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era (Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Shinjidai no Tobira), a new anime film in the Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise, on August 23 at 6:00 p.m.

Iwashita joined Twin Engine in 2020. He served as an assistant producer on the Shine on! Bakumatsu Bad Boys! and was also a planning producer on Hell's Paradise.

Saitō became editor-in-chief of Shueisha's Shonen Jump Magazine in June 2024 after former editor-in-chief Hiroyuki Nakano stepped down. He joined Shueisha's editorial staff in 2005. Saitō has worked on multiple manga including Gintama, Hunter X Hunter, World Trigger, Kuroko's Basketball, Nisekoi, and We Never Learn.

Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era opened in theaters in Japan in May 2024.

This year's Anime NYC has expanded to a four-day event (Thursday to Sunday) for the first time, on August 21-24 at the Javits Center.

Anime NYC launched in November 2017, and has taken place in November each year until in 2024, when it moved to August, and used the full main building of the Javits Center for the first time. (The event was online only in 2020.)
