Moto Hagio Exhibit Commemorated with Manga-Inspired Heart of Thomas, Poe Clan T-Shirts

posted on by Bamboo Dong

Moto Hagio, the creator of classic manga works like The Heart of Thomas and They Were 11, is getting her own exhibit this month. It celebrates the recent trade paperback launch of Silver Ship and Blue Sea, a collection of fairytale stories and illustrations that also provides the name for the exhibit.

The art show will display a variety of Hagio's original color illustrations from the book.

There will also be a variety of goods for sale, including framed reproductions of artwork (22,000 yen [about US$182]), t-shirts inspired by Hagio's 1974 The Heart of Thomas and 1972 Poh no Ichizoku (The Poe Clan) (3,700 yen [about US$31]), a Heart of Thomas tote bag (1,850 yen [$15]), and a clear file set (830 yen [about US$7]).

The exhibit is running from March 8 to 15 at Tokyo's Span Art Gallery.
