Hatsune Miku Will Light Up The Winter Sky at Sapporo's Snow Miku Festival
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Every year, Sapporo throws the Snow Miku festival and rakes in over 100 million yen (about US$839,433) in revenue, with about 40 different companies participating in the promotion. This year's festival is taking place from February 6-12 at Odori Park, Sapporo Factory, and Sound Lab mole where visitors can see the new Miku snow sculpture, browse vendors for exclusive merchandise, attend workshops, and see a live performance. Visitors can get from place to place via a Hatsune Miku wrapped street car.
Snow Miku changes her design every year. This year's theme is "the starry sky/constellations of the winter Hokkaido" and her costume was chosen by popular vote for the first time. Nishina's magical outfit for Miku was chosen alongside LF's design for her companion Yukine. Comet drew this year's official key visual.
This year's theme song is "Star Night Snow" composed by n-buna and Orangestar.
Live ticket information for overseas guests will be announced soon.
