World Webtoon Awards Accepts Global Submissions

The World Webtoon Awards is set to return for its second edition, recognizing outstanding works in the global webtoon industry. Organized by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MSCT) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the awards will spotlight webcomics serialized between January 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025, on both domestic and international platforms.
This year introduces a new Reader's Choice Award, allowing fans to vote on shortlisted works. Public nominations are open from June 16 to July 15 via the official website. Around 20 finalists will be revealed in late August, with the final 10 winners announced at a ceremony on October 22 at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Seoul.
Last year, 10 webtoons — including Solo Leveling, The Remarried Empress, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, and Hellbound — received awards.
The event will coincide with the World Webtoon Festival, expanding across Lotte World Tower and Ice Rink to celebrate the medium. This year's edition will expand its pop-up footprint with 11 stores, open from October 16 to 26, beyond the core festival dates. The World Webtoon Festival will be held from October 19-22.
Eligible applicants — such as creators, production studios, and platforms — can submit entries be considered in the World Webtoon Awards via the official website.
