A very short week with a couple of interesting stories involving mecha on both sides of the pond;

MADHOUSE and Marvel Comics have teamed up to produce a direct to DVD film based on the Iron Man franchise called Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. According to Marvel the film follows Iron Man as he tries to clear his name and avoid arrest by S.H.I.E.L.D for a terrorist act he did not commit. The story is written by Brandon Auman (The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Iron Man: Armored Adventures) and directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki (Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Steins;Gate, Texhnolyze).

The official website for 2013 title Ginga Kikōtai Majestic Prince was launched and the first trailer was streamed via youtube. The story follows humanity after it expanded its frontier into space in a quest for resources. Advances in genetic engineering research allow humans to adapt to the new frontier, leading to the advent of evolved children such as the protagonist Izuru. Izuru enrolls in an academy city called Gurantseere to fulfill his mission of "protecting humanity."

Siren Visual has acquired and will release No. 6 on the 6th of December in a DVD collection.
