3D screening on Saturday, 2D screening on Sunday.

The SF/action film 009 Re:Cyborg, directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) will be shown at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Saturday June 29 at 1.40 p.m. and again on Sunday June 30 at 2.50 p.m. All the Anime confirmed on twitter that the Saturday screening would be 3D and the Sunday screening would be 2D.

The film is made in CGI animation, and is based on Shōtarō Ishinomori's classic science-fiction manga, Cyborg 009. Kamiyama's YouTube channel is streaming the trailer (above). The story begins when skyscrapers in London, Moscow, Berlin, and New York are destroyed by simultaneous bombings, causing widespread panic throughout the world. A group of nine cyborg fighters is reunited, but their former leader is living alone in Tokyo with his memories wiped.

The Glasgow Film Theatre is also screening the dubbed version of Studio Ghibli's Pom Poko on Saturday June 15 at 11.30 a.m., followed by a screening of the dubbed Porco Rosso on Saturday July 27 at 11.30 a.m. Both morning screenings cater especially to family audiences.
