Manga creator Atsushi Ohkubo (Soul Eater, Soul Eater Not!) responded on Tuesday to a fan question on Twitter about his next series by saying that he is currently making preparations so he can announce a new series in 2015.
Ohkubo ended his Soul Eater Not! spinoff manga in the manga's fifth volume, which shipped in Japan on December 22. Ohkubo launched the manga in 2011. Yen Press published the fourth volume in North America in November.
A television anime adaptation of the manga premiered in April. North American anime distributor Funimation streamed the anime as it aired.
Ohkubo's 25-volume main Soul Eater manga — which Ohkubo ended in 2013 — also inspired a 51-episode television anime series in 2008-2009. Funimation released the series on home video. Yen Press is also releasing the main manga in North America, and it will release the 24th volume in January.
