At New York Comic Con 2025, WEBTOON Entertainment and Disney unveiled the next lineup of reformatted comic series joining the WEBTOON platform. Following the release of existing titles such as Amazing Spider-Man (2022–present), Avengers (2012), Star Wars (2015), Alien (2021), and Disney As Old As Time: A Twisted Tale, the new slate expands WEBTOON's partnership with Disney and Marvel.
Upcoming additions include:
- Astonishing X-Men (2004)
- The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
- Stitch Samurai: The Complete Collection
- Star Wars: Darth Vader – Black, White & Red
- Star Wars: Lost Stars
WEBTOON also announced that Dark Horse Comics' Stranger Things: The Other Side will join the platform as part of its ongoing reformatting partnership. The series follows Will Byers' struggle during the events of Stranger Things Season 1. The release date will be announced later.
Additionally, Plants vs. Zombies™, another fan-favorite Dark Horse title, will make its WEBTOON debut on November 1, bringing the classic battle between plants and zombies to the vertical-scroll format for the first time.
WEBTOON and Disney announced in August a multi-year collaboration to adapt and distribute around 100 comics from Disney, Marvel, 20th Century Studios, and Star Wars in WEBTOON's mobile vertical-scroll format. The collaboration launched with a dedicated section on the English-language WEBTOON app, offering both reformatted comics and brand-new original webcomic series based on Disney's most popular properties.
The two companies then announced in September they have signed a non-binding term sheet to develop a new digital comics platform. The service will include more than 35,000 comics from across Disney's portfolio, including Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and 20th Century Studios, along with WEBTOON Original titles. The platform will feature both vertical-scroll and traditional formats and WEBTOON Entertainment will build and operate the platform. The platform will also expand on Marvel Unlimited, with current subscribers gaining access to the new catalog.
