Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the third The Familiar of Zero anime, The Familiar of Zero: Rondo of Princesses (Zero no Tsukaima: Princess no Rondo). The company plans to release the series digitally and on home video.
The series aired in 2008.
Sentai Filmworks describes the series:
With the seemingly unending war with Albion now far past them, Saito and Louise finally get a chance to return to Tristain for some much needed rest and relaxation. All their plans go down the drain, however, when the runes the bind them together suddenly disappear. With no magical force to make sure they don't stray from each other, Saito and Louise find that a relationship that is no longer defined as "Master and Familiar" is pretty hard to maintain, and even harder to get used to! The adventure continues on as the former Zero now turned Hero and his newly empowered master discover more about each other than ever before in their quest to recover their lost runes in The Familiar of Zero: Rondo of Princesses!
Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the first The Familiar of Zero anime based on Noboru Yamaguchi's light novel series last year. Sentai will release the second season, The Familiar of Zero: Knight of the Twin Moons, in March. Sentai Filmworks also licensed the fourth anime, The Familiar of Zero F.
Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. previously released the first anime series on DVD, and Funimation acquired the rights after Geneon stopped distributing anime in North America. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing The Zero's Familiar and Zero's Familiar: Chevalier manga adaptations.
