New digital format to include voice acting, music, sound effects

North American publisher Vertical announced at New York Comic Con (NYCC) on Friday that it will begin releasing audio light novels in spring 2016. The new digital media format will include voice acting, music, and sound effects.

Vertical also confirmed that it will release the Kizumonogatari light novel in December after a delay. The volume was originally slated to ship on November 24. Vertical announced in February that it licensed the novel that is the third volume in NisiOisin's Monogatari book series. The series inspired Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, Monogatari Series Second Season, and subsequent anime adaptations.

The publisher began selling copies of the 12th and final volume of Kanata Konami's Chi's Sweet Home manga at its NYCC booth (#2020). Vertical will release the volume on October 27. The 11th volume shipped in North America on August 19.

Sunrise confirmed at NYCC that Vertical will release the 12th volume of the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga on December 15. Vertical released the 11th volume on September 15. The series has sold more than 110,000 copies in the United States. Vertical opened a survey in January for readers to choose other potential Gundam manga licenses.
