Digimon World -Next 0rder- Game Reveals New Characters, Story Details

Character designs, descriptions also revealed for Luce, Taomon for 2016 PS Vita game

The official website for the Digimon World -Next 0rder- PlayStation Vita role-playing game revealed the character design on Friday for a new Digimon character, The Executioner. The game's Twitter account noted that Kenji Watanabe designed the character, which has an "ominous aura."

The January issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine revealed more details about the character on November 21, and this year's 53rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will also reveal more details on Monday.

The Executioner is a knight clad in black who resembles Omegamon Zwart and is completely wrapped in mystery. The character holds the key to the game's story.

Weekly Shonen Jump is also revealing that the following Digimon will also appear in the game: Omegamon (Omnimon), Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, Mastemon, Jesmon, and ShineGreymon.

The official Twitter account had also revealed a new human character on November 19. The character wears a black-knitted cap and yellow clothes, and has a sharp glint in his eyes. He holds a Digi-Egg and is a complete mystery. He is quoted as saying "Another failure huh."

Additionally, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed more information on Friday regarding the characters Luce, Taomon, and Gallantmon: Crimson Mode, as well as story and training gameplay.

A mysterious young girl who has lost most of her memories. She's always hugging a Digimon plush similar to Numemon. How will she meet the protagonist, Kouta, and Himari?


Taomon
"Humans, why did you come to this kind of place?"
Even though Taomon is an old friend of Jijimon, they parted ways after a certain opportunity arose. Taomon is pessimistic with a quiet and stubborn personality and tries to not get involved with others. It has noticed notice someone's desire to twist the truth in this world, and decides to intervene.


Gallantmon: Crimson Mode

Bandai Namco Entertainment also revealed that Gallantmon: Crimson Mode will, for the first time in the series, be available as a partner Digimon that players can train.

Bandai Namco Entertainment describes the game's "Story 02" as follows:

While the the reconstruction of the town that Kouta and Himari encountered was progressing smoothly, a way to counter the threat of Mugendramon (Machinedramon) has still not been found.

At the same time, the protagonists are asked to go to meet Taomon, the leading sage of the Digital World who has more knowledge than even Jijimon.

Having headed to Taomon, the protagonists will the learn truth of what's happening in this world...

The game will allow for players to use two partner Digimon simultaneously to help in battles. When in a pinch, the two partner Digimon can combine in a new "'EXE'-Volution."

The game will also feature an important "discipline" element that lets players select commands when necessary. After victory the Digimon might also prompt the player for praise. Additionally, Digimon might also sometimes do whatever they want in battle. Players can scold or praise Digimon as they see fit. Digimon will also get hungry and will sleep at night.

Japanese video game news website Dengeki Online has posted additional screenshots from the game.

The game will feature linked content with the new Digimon Adventure tri. film project.

Players can choose between a male or female protagonist. The game's protagonist is a senior high school student who has loved Digimon since he/she was young. In fifth grade, he/she was the runner up of a Japanese Digimon game tournament. The male protagonist Takuto is shown with Agumon and Gabumon as his partner Digimon, while the female protagonist Shiki is shown with Biyomon and Palmon as her partner Digimon.

Bandai Namco Entertainment streamed a second promotional video for the game featuring Takuto, Shiki, and Jijimon on September 23.

Other previously revealed characters include: Kōta Hirose and Himari Ōfuchi, two third-year high school students who are in the same year as the protagonist. Kōta's partner Digimon is Yukimura, a Guilmon, and Himari's partner Digimon is Rikka, a Plotmon.

Japanese illustrator Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III) is designing the characters for the game.

The game will ship in Japan in 2016.
