Game slated for 2017

Nintendo shared a new trailer for its upcoming The Legend of Zelda game at its Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation at E3 on Tuesday. The video reveals the title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and exhibits the game's open world gameplay.

Nintendo revealed the game was in development in 2013, and revealed the game's first gameplay footage in 2014. While originally planned for release in 2015, it was pushed back into 2016, and then delayed again to 2017. While originally slated for release only for Nintendo's Wii U console, it is now slated for simultaneous launch for both the Wii U and Nintendo's as-yet unrevealed "NX" platform.

Update: Nintendo also began streaming a trailer for three new The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo figures, as well as a trailer showing how the Wolf Link amiibo can be used with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD to create a wolf companion in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Update: Nintendo uploaded two 30-minute gameplay demonstrations from its Treehouse Live presentation.
