The November issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine published the final chapter of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's Ten no Ketsumyaku manga and NisiOisin and Chomoran's Zerozaki Kishishiki no Ningen Knock manga on Saturday.
Ten no Ketsumyaku is Yasuhiko's third manga on modern history, after Nijiiro no Trotsky and Ōdō no Inu. The manga centers on a student who finds himself in Manchuria on the eve of the Russo-Japanese War. Somehow, he is wrapped up in international ambitions and strategies, and must endeavor to grow quickly and find his own way of life. The manga examines the conception of modern Japan as a nation, and how the events reflect on contemporary Japanese political history.
Yasuhiko launched the manga in Afternoon magazine in January 2012 as his first serialized story in the magazine. Kodansha published the manga's seventh compiled book volume on March 23, and will publish the eighth and final volume on October 21.
Vertical released Yasuhiko's Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga in English.
Zerozaki Kishishiki no Ningen Knock adapts the similarly titled second novel of NisiOisin's Ningen light novel series, itself a spinoff of his Zaregoto light novel series. The story centers on the titular Kishishiki Zerozaki, a member of the Zerozaki family, one of the "Koroshina" assassin families. Kishishiki carries around a nail-filled bat he calls Seamless Bias as his signature weapon. But now he confronts an unknown and mysterious new enemy.
NisiOisin and Chomoran launched the manga in Afternoon in August 2014. Kodansha published the manga's third compiled book volume on March 23, and will publish the fourth and final compiled book volume on November 22. The Zaregoto novels, where the character Kishishiki Zerozaki originally appeared, are getting an OVA series adapting the first novel. The first OVA is slated for October 26.
