Aoi was on hiatus in 2017 due to poor health

Singer Eir Aoi's official website announced on Thursday that she will resume activities this spring.

Aoi went on indefinite hiatus in November 2016 after her 5th Anniversary Special Live 2016 concert. She had announced in August 2016 that due to her poor health, she would be halting her current activities. At the time she cancelled several appearances in August, and one in January 2017. Her website reopened earlier this month.

Aoi launched her musical career in 2011. She released her first single, "Memoria," in October 2011, with the single's title song serving as the ending theme song to the Fate/Zero television anime series. She has performed theme songs for such anime series as Kill la Kill, Sword Art Online, and the second season of Aldnoah.Zero. Her latest album, D'Azur, debuted at #3 on Oricon's weekly album chart for the June 22-28 week in 2015. She released her 13th and latest single, "Tsubasa," in July 2016, with the single's title song serving as the theme song for The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance television anime.

Aoi cancelled her performance at Animelo Summer Live 2015 -THE GATE- in August 2015 due to a sudden illness, but performed in New York City and at Anime Expo in Los Angeles in 2016.
