The official website for singer Eir Aoi announced on Friday that due to her poor health, she will be going on indefinite hiatus after her planned 5th Anniversary Special Live 2016 concerts at Tokyo's Nippon Budōkan venue on November 4-5. The announcement stated that after several consultations, Aoi herself decided on the indefinite hiatus. Aoi thanked all of her fans and her staff, and asked fans to look forward to her two final concerts.
Aoi had announced in August that due to her poor health, she would be halting her current activities. At the time she cancelled several appearances in August, and one in January 2017.
Aoi launched her musical career in 2011. She released her first single, "Memoria," in October 2011, with the single's title song serving as the ending theme song to the Fate/Zero television anime series. She has performed theme songs for such anime series as Kill la Kill, Sword Art Online, and the second season of Aldnoah Zero. Her latest album, D'Azur, debuted at #3 on Oricon's weekly album chart for the June 22-28 week in 2015. She released her 13th and latest single, "Tsubasa," on July 20, with the single's title song serving as the theme song for The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance television anime:
