Devil's Line Manga Gets Original Anime DVD

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
OAD ships with series' 12th volume on August 23

The official website for Kodansha's Morning magazine announced on Wednesday that Ryo Hanada's Devils' Line manga will get an original anime DVD (OAD) in the limited edition of the series' 12th compiled book volume. The volume will ship on August 23.

The OAD's story will follow the anime's 12th and final episode. It will feature Anzai and Tsukasa and deal with the relationship between Anzai's parents Tamaki and Midori.

The anime adaptation of the manga premiered in Japan on April 7, and HIDIVE is streaming the series with English subtitles as it airs. The company is also streaming the English dub as the first show in its "dubcast" initiative that streams dubs for anime shortly after they premiere in Japan. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for streaming and home video.

Vertical Comics is publishing the manga in print in English, and Kodansha Advanced Media is releasing the manga digitally in North America. Vertical describes the series' story:

Tsukasa, a college student, is rescued from an attack by a devil, one of many vampires that can blend in among the human population. Anzai, her savior, is a half-devil who exploits his supernatural gifts as a member of a shadowy police task force that specializes in devil-related crime in Tokyo. As Anzai continues to keep guard over Tsukasa, the two quickly forge a tentative bond—one that Anzai fears will test his iron-clad rule of never drinking human blood...

Hanada launched the dark fantasy manga in Kodansha's Monthly Morning two magazine in 2013, and Kodansha published 11th volume on March 23. The volume bundles a drama CD with the anime's cast featuring a story from the day before the first episode of the anime.
