Pocket Monster: Minna no Monogatari opens in Japan on Friday

The official website for Gekijōban Pocket Monster: Minna no Monogatari (Pokémon the Movie: Everyone's Story), the 21st film in the Pokémon franchise, began streaming four new commercials for the film on Thursday.

The film's staff also revealed a new visual for the film by artist Yoshitoshi Shinomiya. Shinomiya also drew a special visual for last year's film.

The film will open in theaters in Japan on July 13. Lugia and a new Mythical Pokémon named Zeraora will appear in the film. The story is set during the annual Wind Festival at Frau City, which is blessed with wind from the Legendary Pokémon Lugia.

The film's guest cast includes:

Mana Ashida as Largo, a mysterious girl who is found alone in the forest.

Rina Kawaei as Risa, a Pokémon newbie and high school student.

Gaku Hamada as Torito, a timid researcher with no confidence in himself.

Kōji Ōkura as Kagachi, a man with a tendency to boast and who can't stop lying.

Masako Nozawa as Hisui, an eccentric old woman who is prejudiced against Pokémon.

Shōko Nakagawa (in her 12th consecutive guest star in Pokémon films) as Riku, Risa's younger brother who loves Pokémon.

Kouichi Yamadera (in his 21st consecutive guest star in Pokémon films) as Mayor Oliver, Largo's father.

The film's returning cast includes:

Kunihiko Yuyama, who has directed many of the earlier Pokémon films, including last year's Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, is returning as animation supervisor. Eiji Umehara (Grimoire of Zero, Beelzebub scriptwriter) and Aya Takaha are writing the script.

Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) is handling animation production along with the franchise's mainstay studio Oriental Light and Magic. Tetsuo Yajima, the assistant director of last year's Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, is returning to direct the film, and Shizue Kaneko (If Her Flag Breaks, Pan de Peace!) is designing the characters.

Rock band Porno Graffiti is performing the film's theme song "Breath."

Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! (Gekijōban Pocket Monster: Kimi ni Kimeta!), the previous film in the franchise, opened in Japan on July 15, 2017, and earned 516 million yen (about US$4.61 million) in its first two days to rank at #1 at the box office.
