Waiting for Spring Manga Ends in 2 Chapters
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The September issue of Kodansha's Dessert magazine revealed on Wednesday that Anashin's Waiting for Spring (Harumatsu Bokura) manga will end in two chapters. If there are no delays, the manga will end in the magazine's November issue on September 24.
Anashin previously announced in June that the manga's 13th volume will be the last volume. The manga will also get a bonus chapter after it ends, but Anashin did not clarify where the bonus chapter will appear.
Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the story:
Mizuki (sic) is a shy girl who's about to enter high school, and vows to open herself up to new friendships. Of course, the four stars of the boys' basketball team weren't exactly the friends she had in mind! Yet, when they drop by the café where she works, the five quickly hit it off. Soon she's been accidentally thrust into the spotlight, targeted by jealous girls. And will she expand her mission to include…love?
Anashin launched Waiting for Spring in Kodansha's Dessert magazine in 2014. Kodansha published the manga's 12th compiled book volume on June 13. Kodansha Comics published the 10th volume in English on January 22. The manga was nominated in Kodansha's 41st Manga Awards in 2017, and the American Library Association's (ALA's) Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) listed the manga in its 2018 list of Great Graphic Novels for Teens.
The manga inspired a live-action film that opened in Japan last December and ranked at #7 at the Japanese box office.
