MediaLink Entertainment Limited's Ani-One YouTube channel announced last Friday that it will stream the television anime adaptation of Saburouta's Citrus yuri manga, beginning with the first episode on Monday at 7:30 p.m. GMT +8, with a new episode every day. The anime will be available in Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Seven Seas is publishing the manga in North America, and it describes the story:

Yuzuko Aihara, a high school girl whose main interests are fashion, friends, and having fun, is about to get a reality check. Due to her mom's remarriage, Yuzu has transferred to a new all-girls school that is extremely strict. Her real education is about to begin.

From day one, happy-go-lucky Yuzu makes enemies, namely the beautiful yet stern Student Council President Mei. So what happens when a dejected Yuzu returns home and discovers the shock of her life: that Mei is actually her new stepsister who has come to live with her? Even more surprising, when Mei catches Yuzu off guard and kisses her out of the blue, what does it all mean?

The series premiered in Japan in January 2018.

Takeo Takahashi (Spice and Wolf, MAOYU, Hinako Note) directed the series at studio Passione. Naoki Hayashi (Flip Flappers, D.C.III ~Da Capo III~ script) oversaw the series scripts, and Izuro Ijuuin (Barakamon, Wagnaria!!3 animation director) designed the characters and served as chief animation director. Lantis produced the music and Infinite produced the series.

nano.RIPE (Food Wars! The Second Plate, Non Non Biyori, The Devil is a Part-Timer!) performed the show's opening theme song "Azalea," and Mia REGINA (Code:Realize, Matoi the Sacred Slayer) performed the ending theme song "Dear Teardrop."

Saburouta launched the manga in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine in 2012, and ended it in August 2018 with 10 volumes. The Citrus+ manga spinoff debuted in winter that same year, and is ongoing.
