Shueisha announced on Thursday that its MANGA Plus app will begin simultaneously publishing all new manga from Weekly Young Jump magazine worldwide (except Japan, Korea, and China), starting with Yūji Ninomiya's Bungo -unreal-, a sequel to the Bungo baseball manga.

Bungo-unreal- launched in Weekly Young Jump on Thursday. In the manga, the characters from the original series have entered high school. MANGA Plus describes the story:

After diligently practicing "wall ball," Bungo Ishihama meets Yukio Noda, a member of Japan's youth baseball national team in a fateful encounter. The two then advance to middle school and join the ultra-competitive "Seio Senior" team. Aiming for the top of middle school baseball, they engage in fierce battles! As time passes, the duo moves on to high school, setting their sights on achieving "five consecutive Koshien championships," once again striving for the top!

Ninomiya debuted the Bungo manga in December 2014, and ended it in December 2024. Shueisha published the manga's 41st and final compiled book volume on April 17.

Shueisha launched the MANGA Plus service worldwide in January 2019. The service is Shueisha's first foray into direct service globally. The Shonen Jump+ editorial department manages overseas distribution through MANGA Plus in-house.

The service launched with 50 titles, including 13 completed series. The service publishes new chapters of currently serialized manga from Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, Jump Square magazine, and the Shonen Jump+ service at the same time they are released in Japan. The first chapter and the latest chapter of currently serialized manga are also free. A portion of the revenue from advertisements on the website go directly to the manga authors.
