ADV Announces May 30 Releases

ADV ANNOUNCES MAY 30 RELEASES

HOUSTON, April 24, 2006 —ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce two exciting new anime titles set to hit the streets on May 30 – the fifth volume of Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok and the brand new thin-pack collection of Legend of the Mystical Ninja!

MYTHICAL DETECTIVE LOKI RAGNAROK: SISTERS OF FURY

“Wonderful!” – Underland Online

ADV Films is proud to announce the fifth volume in the hit anime series Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok: Sisters of Fury, which hits stores everywhere May 30. “Fans of all ages should give this extremely funny and action-packed show a look” (ToonZone.com).

Directed by Hiroshi Watanabe (King of Bandit Jing, Video Girl Ai), Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok is funny, charming, and macabre. Loki is the Norse god of mischief, now banished to Earth by Odin. Forced to exist in exile in a little boy's body – but with all the powers of a god – Loki runs a private detective agency. Alongside his trusted assistant, Yamino, and a beautiful high school girl, Mayura, they set out to shine a light into the deepest corners of the paranormal. But there is one metaphysical mystery remains: Just what in the Heavens has Loki done to find himself banished to Earth?

Synopsis: They are the Norns, governesses of fate and impartial chaperones to the dance of the living. But now, with Ragnarok on the horizon, Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld have abandoned their posts in Asgard to join in the fun with the mortals of Earth. Will these new arrivals find allies among the horde of gods living on Earth, or just pesky little deities constantly underfoot? Can this ethereal (and lethal) trio of sisters finally claim the bounty on Loki's head? And don't forget the mystery! With the gods themselves as threads on their loom, what reasons could the Norns possibly have for allying themselves with Odin? What chance does Loki stand against assassins who know the future? And when all is said and done, and the tapestry of fate finally unravels, who will be left holding the thread?

Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok: Sisters of Fur (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including episodes 17-20, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Video extras include the first half of a two part Actors Talk with Rika Komatsu (Reiya) and Yui Horie (Mayura), a Character Art Gallery, and background notes on Norse Mythology, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation, and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.
