JapanFiles.com Brings Electro-Pop Nagoya Band Budo Grape to A-Kon 2008!

December 4, 2007 – JapanFiles.com is proud to announce the USA debut of Budo Grape at A-Kon 19 in Dallas, Texas. The Nagoya-based electro-pop band band will play the event's opening night concert on Friday, May 30, 2008.

BIO

Budo Grape is a catchy, high energy avant-garde pop band from Nagoya, Japan. The band is fronted by model and radio personality "Quminco" and Nagoya music legend Nagai of "The Shockers." Formed in 2001, Budo Grape released their first full album "Koibito wa Koishite Tsukuru" in 2005. The album was a hit in the Japanese underground scene and was followed up with the 2006 release "Soko kara Detekinasai" and 2007's "Otonatachi x Kodomotachi" The band, whose members all have "Grape" for a last name, claim to come from "Neo-Nagoya." They continue to tour Japan with their crazy live show and catchy songs.


MEMBERS

Quminco Grape (Lead Vocal) – Quminco is a model and radio DJ in Nagoya Japan. In addition to her duties as lead vocal, she also plays the piano and drums. Fans follow Quminco's personal blog at http://quminko.budo-grape.net/

Nagai Grape (Vocals and Guitar ) is the leader of Budo Grape and the creator of most of the band's music and lyrics. He has been involved in the Japanese music scene for 26 years. Midori Grape (Synthesizers and Vocals) has been involved musically with the current members of Budo Grape since 1995. Her synthesizer sound is filled with cute phrases and the sounds of various toys and pop music. She loves mushrooms.

Taichi Grape (Drums) played drums in Nagai and Midori's previous band Bakeratta before joining Budo Grape. Matsui Grape (Bass) played bass in several very popular bands in Nagoya. His aggressive style is heavily influenced by Stranglers bassist J.J Burnel.
