Comikey Media Inc. Announces Partnership with Media Do & Ake Culture, More Titles from MediBang and Square Enix in July 2023
Portland, Oregon (July 01, 2023) — Comikey is excited to share that it has formed a new partnership with MEDIA DO Co., Ltd, which is the biggest eBook distributor in Japan. Comikey will be adding one of their existing popular manga licenses to its platform in July, with more to come over the coming months. In addition, Comikey has licensed new webtoon titles from MEDIA DO, for its platform, which the company will be localizing in-house.
The company had launched its first webtoon series from MEDIA DO, titled “How to Draw a Fantasy Manhwa'' (판타지 만화를 그리는 법) in June. More webtoon titles are planned for launch in the following months.
Comikey has also formed a new partnership with Shanghai Ake Culture Media Co. (Ake Culture), and has licensed 18 series to host on the Comikey platform. In addition, the company has licensed 8 MediBang series to launch on its platform in July.
The company is also excited to announce it has licensed ten more SQUARE ENIX titles for the month of July. Nine of the series have already had a debut on the Manga UP! App, and one will have its debut on the Comikey platform. The company plans to further expand its SQUARE ENIX catalog in the following months.
