Heroes Phantasia Crossover RPG's Opening Anime Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo

Namco Bandai Games began streaming the 112-second opening animation sequence for its anime crossover role-playing game Heroes Phantasia on Friday. The game assembles characters from 10 anime: Orphen, Rune Soldier, R.O.D: Read or Die-, s-CRY-ed, Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsō), My-HiME, Blood+, Darker than Black, Darker than Black: Ryūsei no Gemini, and Slayers Revolution. For some of the titles, this video has their first new animated sequences in years, if not in a decade.

In the story, troubling incidents occur all over the modern world. People known as Native Alters with strange powers instigate anti-social acts. Monstrous creatures called Orphan meddle in human society. Chiropterans cause a rash of vampire-related murders. Resurrected historical figures attack the U.S. Library of Congress. Several organizations rise up to counter these threats and maintain peace and order: Holy, HiME, Red Shield, and the Special Operations Division of the British Library.

Meanwhile, the dimensional walls around the parallel world Adoroasu have collapsed, and all kinds of monsters have also appeared in that world. However, the fall of the dimensional walls also ushered in a band of heroes: Orphen, Louie, and Lina Inverse. The story gradually unfolds across these two worlds.

The game will ship for the PSP portable system in Japan on January 19.
