posted on by Eric Stimson
A compilation of the songs written by Yuho Iwasato, Ms. Lyricist, will be released on May 25 to celebrate 35 years of her contributions to the Japanese music industry. Her old friend, Rumiko Takahashi (Inu Yasha, Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura), did her a favor by drawing her for the album jacket.
Ms. Lyricist will contain 33 of Iwasato's songs. Those that were used in anime are:
- "Love is Changing" by Hikaru Nishida (the first ending to Flame of Recca)
- "Platinum" by Maaya Sakamoto (the third opening to Card Captor Sakura)
- "Sousei no Aquarion" by AKINO (the first opening to Aquarion)
- "Northern Cross" by May'n (the eighth ending to Macross Frontier)
- "Doridori" by Shōko Nakagawa (the third ending to Pokémon XY)
- "Rottara Rottara" by Buono! (the first ending to Shugo Chara!! Doki)
- "Marble" by Megumi Nakajima (the opening to Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne)
- "The Real Folk Blues" by Mai Yamane (the first ending to Cowboy Bebop)
Takahashi has also lent her support to an issue of Big Comic Original focusing on the Hanshin Tigers baseball team by drawing Lum in a Tigers uniform.
