J.C. Staff's anime based on Kôji Kumeta, Yasu's comedy manga to premiere on July 5

A new television commercial for the upcoming anime adaptation of Kôji Kumeta and Yasu's Joshiraku comedy manga ran during Friday's airing of Natsu-iro Kiseki. Unlike the previous commercial that ran in May, this commercial features animated footage.

The story follows the behind-the-scenes dressing-room conversations of a group of female (joshi) Japanese verbal show (rakugo) performers.

J.C. Staff is producing the series. Tsutomu Mizushima (Squid Girl, Haré+Guu) is directing the series, while Michiko Yokote (Squid Girl, Genshiken) is responsible for the series scripts. Masayoshi Tanaka (anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Toradora!) is the character designer, Yoshikazu Iwanami (Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Blood-C ) is the sound director, and Starchild Records is handling music production.

The series stars Ayane Sakura as Marii Buratei, Kotori Koiwai as Kigurumi Harōkitei, Nozomi Yamamoto as Tetora Bōhatei, Saori Gotō as Kukuru Anrakutei, and Yoshino Nanjō as Gankyō Kūrubiyūtei.

The anime series will premiere on July 5.
