Assassination Classroom TV Anime Casts Jun Fukuyama, Tomokazu Sugita, Shizuka Itou

This year's 44th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday the cast for three characters in the television anime of Yūsei Matsui's Assassination Classroom manga:

Koro-sensei: Jun Fukuyama
Tadaomi Karasuma: Tomokazu Sugita
Irina Jelavic: Shizuka Itou

Tomokazu Seki, Junichi Suwabe, and Yui Horie played the same characters, respectively, in the earlier event anime special.

Viz Media will publish the first volume of the manga in North America in December. Viz Media describes the story:

A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher – an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth – unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he's the best teacher they've ever had!

Seiji Kishi (Persona 4 The Animation, Danganronpa The Animation, Devil Survivor 2 The Animation) is directing the anime at the studio Lerche. Kazuaki Morita (Persona 4 The Animation, Danganronpa The Animation, Arpeggio of Blue Steel) is designing the characters, and Makoto Uezu (Danganronpa The Animation, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Is This a Zombie?, School Days) is writing the scripts.

The series will premiere in January and air late Friday nights on Fuji TV, and a live-action film will follow. A second event anime will debut in November.
