Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War English Dub Cast Unveiled

Sentai Filmworks announced the English dub cast for the Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War (Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai) film on Wednesday. The cast, under director David Wald, includes:

• Carli Mosier as Oshima
• Andrew Love as Yamamato
• Scott Gibbs as Kume
• Amanda Passanante as Ichirio's Sister
• Krystal LaPorte as Hino
• John Swasey as Ichiro's Father
• Celeste Roberts as Ichiro's Mother
• Katie Porterfield as Imawano
• Shannon Emerick as Ito
• Shunté Lofton as Kanou
• Adam Gibbs as Kawai
• Mark Ivy as Kobayashi
• Blake Shepard as Kinoshita
• Josh Morrison as Man in Black
• Luis Galindo as Man in White

Sentai Filmworks will release the film on Blu-ray and DVD on December 8.

The 2013 film is based on the 2008 light novel of the same name by Romeo Tanaka (Humanity Has Declined). Sentai Filmworks describes the story:

In Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War, Ichiro Sato used to spend his life dreaming, pretending to be a great fantasy hero. Pretend heroics, however, aren't much protection from bullies and social ridicule. Now determined to follow a different path and fit in, Ichiro thought he'd managed to give up his old fantasies. Until he encountered Ryouko Satou, who's even more deeply immersed in her own imaginary world than Ichiro was-and is bullied just as cruelly for it. If he stands up for Ryouko, Ichiro could destroy the new life he's trying to build.

But at the same time, the intensity of her fantasies and predicament reminds him all too vividly of the person he once was. In the end, it may just be that the only one who can really rescue this damsel in distress is the dream hero that Ichiro thought he had buried forever in Aura.

Seiji Kishi (Persona 4, Angel Beats!, My Bride is a Mermaid/Seto no Hanayome) directed the anime at AIC ASTA. Makoto Uezu (School Days, Is This a Zombie?, My Bride is a Mermaid) collaborated on the story composition with scriptwriter Jun Kumagai (Persona 4 The Animation episodes). Kazuaki Morita (Carnival Phantasm, Kamisama Dolls, My Bride is a Mermaid) adapted the original novel illustrations by mebae (C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility).
