Nintendo revealed on Thursday the year-end results for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2025, noting that the Nintendo Switch console has sold 152.12 million units as of March 31. This number includes sales for the Nintendo Switch, Lite, and OLED consoles. Switch software sales amount to 1.391 billion units.

Nintendo is also forecasting it will sell 15 million Switch 2 consoles in the new fiscal year, which will end on March 31, 2026. The company is predicting it will sell 4.5 million Switch consoles in the next year.

Nintendo sold 10.80 million Switch consoles in the fiscal year that ended on March 31, including 3.00 million Switch consoles, 5.86 million Switch OLED models, and 1.95 Switch Lite consoles. For year-on-year, this is a 31.2% decrease from the 15.70 million Switch units sold in fiscal year 2024.

The financial report also stated Nintendo predicts net sales of 1.900 trillion yen (about US$13.1 billion) in the next fiscal year, a 63.1% increase over the 1.1649 trillion yen (about US$8.04 billion) in net sales earned in the fiscal year that ended on March 31.

The bestselling titles for Switch as of March 31 include:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 68.20 million copies
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons: 47.82 million copies
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 36.24 million copies
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: 32.81 million copies
  • Super Mario Odyssey: 29.28 million copies
  • Pokémon Scarlet/Pokémon Violet: 26.79 million copies
  • Pokémon Sword/Pokémon Shield: 26.72 million copies
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: 21.73 million copies
  • Super Mario Party: 21.16 million copies
  • New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: 18.25 million copies

Nintendo launched the Switch console in March 2017.

The Switch surpassed Sony's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo's Game Boy/Game Boy Color as the third best-selling console of all time as of the end of 2022. It now stands behind only the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS (and if Nintendo's forecast is correct, the Switch will surpass the Nintendo DS in the next fiscal year).

Nintendo formally unveiled its Switch 2 system on January 16. The console will launch in many countries including the United States and Japan on June 5.
