Tokyo MX1 Station Will Air the Nukitashi Anime — But Only the Audio
posted on by Ken Iikura-Gross
The upcoming series Nukitashi the Animation announced on Monday more details on the television channels which will run the series. They include the premium subscription channels AT-X and BS11, plus the local over-the-air stations Gifu Broadcasting, KBS Kyoto, and Mie TV.

Tokyo MX1, which serves Japan's most populous area of Tokyo's Kantō region, will also air the anime — or rather, just the audio portion of the anime. Tokyo MX1's secondary channel Tokyo MX2 will air both the video and audio of the anime, but with some caveats.
The anime will have three versions (not counting Tokyo MX1's audio-only airing):
- "Seiran Island" version: the lewd version with the most unregulated content, available on AT-X and on the anime's Blu-ray Disc box
- Streaming-only version: the version where the lewd elements are slightly less restricted than in the fully regulated version, and can be viewed on various streaming sites
- Fully regulated version: the version that can be viewed on BS11, Gifu Broadcasting, KBS Kyoto, Mie TV, and now, Tokyo MX2
As of press time, the anime's staff has not revealed why only the audio will air on Tokyo MX1.
Anime fans were quick to react on Tokyo MX1's audio only version, with the anime's official social media post garnering over 70 comments. A handful of commenters noted the audio broadcast is akin to a drama CD. One even suggested, tongue-in-cheek, that Tokyo MX1 might run the audio over a weather report.
Some commenters on Japanese forum site Yaraon also questioned the audio only broadcast, while others noted they had no interest in the series, or the censored version on Tokyo MX2. Still others pondered the airing of Nukitashi the Animation, with one commenter musing what is the difference between Nukitashi the Animation and an anime made by adult anime production studio Pink Pineapple.
Nukitashi the Animation adapts the 2018 game Nuki-Gee Mitai na Shima ni Sunderu Hinnyū (Watashi) wa Dō Surya Ii Desuka? (What's a Flat-Chested Girl Like Me to Do on an Island Straight Out of a Porn Game? or Nukitashi for short) by Qruppo. Shiravune began offering the game on Windows via the Johren service (as an 18+ title) and also on Steam in June 2023. Qruppo released the Nukitashi 2 sequel game in 2019, and Shiravune released the sequel on February 16.
Mameojitan launched a manga adaptation of the game through the Beaglee's Manga Ōkoku service in 2020. The series subsequently began serialization in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine in 2021.
Update: Streaming-only version's description fixed. Thanks, BalmungHHQ.
