Web Novel, Webtoon The Congressman Sends My Condolences Set for Live-Action Adaptation
posted on by Wonhee Cho

The hit Korean web novel The Congressman Sends My Condolences, written by Hyun-bin Kim, is being adapted into a live-action series. The original novel ran from 2021 to April 2024, gaining widespread popularity for its unique mix of political satire and fantasy.
The story follows Young-jin Goo, a six-term National Assembly member who dies and returns to the world as a ghost, 10 years in the past. Unable to interact with anyone except Jae-rim Cha, a low-ranking civil servant who can see him, Goo begins a second chance at life — this time from beyond the grave.
A webtoon adaptation, drawn by CYAN, has been serialized on Kakao Webtoon since 2024.
The live-action adaptation aims to bring the web novel's sharp political commentary and supernatural twist to the screen. Production details and broadcasting network information have not yet been announced.
Neither the web novel nor the webtoon have official English translations.
