Viz Media to Release Dr. Stone Manga in Print

posted on by Alex Mateo

Viz Media revealed to news website ICv2 on Thursday that it is releasing Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi's Dr. Stone manga in print in the United States. The first volume ships in September.

Viz Media published the manga's first three chapters in English as Shueisha published them in Japan as part of the company's "Jump Start" initiative. Viz Media then added the series to its regular lineup for its digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

Boichi (Sun-Ken Rock) and Inagaki (author of Eyeshield 21) launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump on March 6. Shueisha will publish the fifth compiled volume on April 4.

In the story, Taiju is about to confess to the girl he loves when a mysterious force hits the Earth and turns every human into stone. Taiju and his friend Senku wake up thousands of years later and begin to rebuild society.

Thanks to Morgan for the news tip.
