Neon Genesis Evangelion's Rei Ayanami

In the above image, an unidentified cosplayer portrays Rei Ayanami, from the Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime and subsequent film series. In the television anime, Rei is known as the "First Child" who pilots Evangelion Unit 00. In the photo, she wields the Lance of Longinus, which is used to hold the angel Lilith captive in the series; the name is derived from Christian traditions, in which the Lance of Longinus was used to pierce Jesus during the Crucifixion.
The photo was taken at ANImagic 2009, which took place in Bonn, Germany from July 31 to August 2, 2009.
