The amount of training and exercise the boys of Karasuno High's volleyball team undergo requires a lot of protein. What better way to get it than a tasty barbecue? Creator Haruichi Furudate created special packaging for the "Haikyu!! x JA ZEN-NOH Iwate Food Ingredients Box #1: Eat Mighty! Junjō Specialty Iwate BBQ Box."
ZEN-NOH Iwate is a branch of Japan's National Federation of Agricultural Co-operative Association which focuses on promoting the sale of domestic meats. This product in particular is promoting meat and agriculture products from Iwate. Furudate hails from the prefecture.
The box includes one package beef shoulder roast, pork loin, BBQ cut vegetables (cabbage, eggplant, onions, green peppers, Kinyuka cultivated mushrooms), Ōfunato-grown Furitika mini-tomatoes, two packages of Iwachiku Ernte Fest pork wieners and rice, and one container of Iwaizumi plain yogurt.
Each package costs 6,000 yen (US$50). Only 3,000 boxes were offered for pre-order and they promptly sold out after going on sale on Saturday. The boxes with Furudate's limited design included a matching clear file and notepad.
ZEN-NOH previously collaborated with Kana Hanazawa to promote both curry and eating more meat.
