Aki Hata Creates Anisong Talent Unit with LiSA, Konomi Suzuki, Nao Toyama, Yoshino Nanjou

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Aki Hata has written the lyrics to some of anime's popular theme songs. She penned themes for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, WATAMOTE, Azumanga Daioh, and Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts. Her latest project is getting together some of the singers behind the theme songs to form a new anisong talent unit.

The group is "Q-MHz" and includes Mikako Komatsu, Konomi Suzuki, Nao Tōyama, Yoshino Nanjō, and LiSA. The group will release their first, 10-track album on January 27, 2016. Hata also gathered composers Tomokazu Tashiro, Katsuhiko Kurosu, and Tomoya Tabuchi (of Unison Square Garden) to produce the group (seen in above picture).

Q-MHz's sound ranges from aggressive rock numbers to bubblegum pop. Tracks will also be available digitally via iTunes and the music download site Recochoku starting on February 3.
