posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

One-Punch Man manga artist Yūsuke Murata returns with new artwork for Japan's home video release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's on August 7. Murata has previously drawn collaborative art for the Spider-Man: Homecoming live-action film. The Spider-Verse art shows Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker swinging among the skyscrapers of New York.

A card of the same illustration will be included as an exclusive bonus for Blu-ray Disc & DVD release on August 7. Murata shared his thoughts on the film and credited its ability to seamlessly blend the world of comics and animation together.

The animated film took home an Oscar last year. The film's directors Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman shared what anime helped inspire the film's look and feel. The movie's Japanese animators also shared their experience creating the film in the Japanese magazine CG World.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse opened in U.S. theaters on December 14 starring Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, and Hailee Steinfield as Gwen Stacy.
