Ojamajo Doremi's New Novel Imagining the Girls in Their 20s to Ship in October

Novel by anime writer is sequel to Ojamajo Doremi 16 light novel series

Kodansha Light Novel Bunko's Twitter account announced on Wednesday that the Ojamajo Doremi 20's novel will ship on October 3. The novel, which depicts the cast as adults, was originally slated for a summer release.

The light novel series first launched in 2011 as a spinoff sequel to Toei Animation's television anime series. The anime centers on a group of young witches led by Doremi Harukaze (voiced by Chiba), but the Ojamajo Doremi 16 light novel series depicts the girls at high school age.

Ojamajo Doremi 20's will be written by Yumi Kageyama, a writer on the original anime. Original character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi will provide the illustrations. The Ojamajo Doremi 16 novels were written by Midori Kuriyama and also illustrated by Umakoshi.

The Ojamajo Doremi 20's novel was first announced as part of the anime's 20th anniversary project, which also includes an all-new film titled Majo Minarai o Sagashite (Searching for Witch Apprentices).

The first Ojamajo Doremi anime series originally premiered in Japan in 1999, and 4Kids began broadcasting a heavily edited version of the series in the United States in 2005 under the title Magical DoReMi.
