Central Anime Script used with Permission
Tokyopop is using the script from Central Anime's fansub of Initial D as reference material for their upcoming Initial D release. When Tokyopop announced that they had licenced Initial D Central Anime pulled their Initial D offerings and offered their scripts to Tokyopop.
Tokyopop graciously accepted the offer, Central Anime's Initial D translation was generally regarded as being of very high quality. Central Anime also produced Liner notes to help viewers understand the script.
According to Tokyopop's Ken Lee, "We're still early in our localization of Initial D and we're still planning our releases and our translation efforts," so it isn't yet clear just how similar the final, licensed release will resemble the Central Anime fansub.
