Jun Maeda's 2nd original anime after Angel Beats! to premiere on July 4

The official website for the Jun Maeda's Charlotte television anime posted a preview video for the first episode, "Tanin o Omou" (Think About Others), and two new key visuals on Saturday.

The taglines on the posters read, "The boy confronts fate, even if he loses something precious," and "The monster continues to challenge fate, even if it means forgetting someone precious."

The anime's website also confirmed that the series will premiere on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on July 4 at 24:00 (effectively July 5 at midnight), followed by Chiba TV, tvk, Teletama, MBS, Tulip TV, and CBC TV. The main cast will appear on a one-hour streamed Niconico Live program on July 4.

The story centers around the special abilities that occur among a small percentage of boys and girls in puberty. Yū Otosaka uses his power without others knowing, and lives a fairly normal, average school life. Before him suddenly appears a girl, Nao Tomori. Due to his meeting with her, the fate of special power-users will be exposed.

The show's main cast is as follows:

Kouki Uchiyama (Nisekoi's Raku, Infinite Stratos' Ichika) as Yū Otosaka

Ayane Sakura (Love Live!'s Arisa, Selector Infected Wixoss's Yuzuki) as Nao Tomori

Takahiro Mizushima (Angel Beats! Takamatsu, Code Geass' Rollo) as Jōjirō Takajō

Maaya Uchida (Noragami's Hiyori, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!'s Rikka) as Yusa Nishimori (pictured left) and Misa (pictured right)

Momo Asakura (Witch Craft Works' Rin, Sakura Trick's Sumi) as Ayumi Otosaka

Yoshiyuki Asai is directing the anime at P.A. Works from an original concept and scripts by Jun Maeda. Kanami Sekiguchi is adapting Na-Ga's original character designs. Lia performs the opening theme song "Bravely You," and Aoi Tada performs the ending theme song "Yake Ochinai Tsubasa." Maeda is composing and writing the lyrics for both songs. The band ZHIEND and the vocalist Marina perform the background music. Maeda also produces the background music compositions, and Hikarisyuyo composes the songs.

Key is releasing the anime in celebration of its 15th anniversary, and the series will be Maeda's second original anime work, with the first being Angel Beats! in 2010.
