Rie Tanaka Attends Event For 1st Time Since Attack in 2013

Voice actress Rie Tanaka appeared as a secret guest at the "Persona3 The Movie Finale Event" event in Tokyo on Saturday. The appearance marks the first time that Tanaka appeared at an event since June 2013, when she suffered an injury during the "TV Anime Hyperdimension Neptunia's Earliest! Advance Screening Event" event promoting the Hyperdimension Neptunia television anime series.
At the "TV Anime Hyperdimension Neptunia's Earliest! Advance Screening Event" event, a man appeared carrying a knife. Tanaka was injured with a bruised knee as she lost her footing on some steps in an attempt to flee the incident.
Tanaka put her Twitter account on hiatus three days after the incident, but resumed using the account last August.
Aside from her roles in Hyperdimension Neptunia (as Neptune/Purple Heart) and the Persona 3 film project (as Mitsuru Kirijō), Tanaka has voiced major roles in Strike Witches, Hayate the Combat Butler, Squid Girl, Time of Eve, Toradora!, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, and the Precure franchise, among many others.
The final film in the Persona 3 film project, Persona 3 the Movie #4 Winter of Rebirth, opened in Japan on January 23. The film will ship in Japan on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on August 3.
