Sanrio's 'Cogimyun' Character Gets Anime Shorts

Model Ryūcheru debuted as voice actor in anime on July 30

Streaming service Abema TV premiered a short net anime series titled Cogimyun based on Sanrio's "Cogimyun" character on July 30. The series centers on the flour dough spirit Cogimyun, who actually really wants to be an onigiri (rice ball). She takes care of her grandfather's apartment complex due to her grandfather being away. The denizens of the apartment are all "Kogimuko," which are all food that center on flour dough.

Model Ryūcheru made his voice actor debut in the show as Choco Cornet, the friend of Cogimyun. Sonoko Inoue performed the anime's ending theme song "First Date."

Sanrio recently collaborated with the Japan Countdown television program to produce the Deeky & Carina anime series, which premiered on May 7. An anime titled Sanrio Boys, which centers on boys who like Sanrio characters, will premiere in January 2018.
