Sci-fi comedy anime slated for 2018

Writer Satoshi Miyakawa and artist Kei Itō's Uchū Senkan Tiramisu (Space Battleship Tiramisu) manga is inspiring a television anime adaptation in 2018. Studio Gonzo will provide the animation.

Itō drew a new illustration to commemorate the anime adaptation. The illustration is posted on the anime's official website.

The science fiction gag comedy follows the everyday life of Subaru Ichinose, the ace pilot of the space battleship "Tiramisu." Since he cannot get used to being surrounded by older pilots, Subaru shuts himself in the cockpit of his personal ship "Durandal."

Miyakawa (Haha o Nakushita Toki, Boku wa Ikotsu o Tabetai to Omotta.) and Itō launched the ongoing manga on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch website in October 2015. The fourth compiled book volume will ship on Friday.
