Keiichirō Saitō (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. Regards) directed the anime at CloverWorks. Erika Yoshida (Lupin III: Part IV) was in charge of series composition and screenplay. Kerorira (animation director for Wonder Egg Priority) designed the characters.

"Mitsugu Bamba is a high school girl who is crazy about donating her blood, to the point that she feels compelled to visit a local blood bank despite the unfriendly nurse. One day, Mitsugu encounters a beautiful girl there who looks like she has come from overseas. The girl is so pale that she appears ready to faint. Instead, she suddenly starts trashing the blood bank. The girl then loses consciousness and so Mitsugu takes her home..."
Mamoru Oshii was the executive director and was credited with the original work, and Junji Nishimura (Ranma ½, You're Under Arrest: The Motion Picture, True Tears) directed the anime. Kei Yamamura (The Next Generation -Patlabor-) wrote the scripts with Oshii. Issei Aragaki (Monogatari Series key animator/episode animation director) designed the characters.
Daisuke Miyachi was the music producer for the anime. Comic Animation was credited for the production, and Drive was credited for the animation production. Production I.G was credited for production cooperation.

Shinpei Ezaki (Monster Strike The Movie, Hanebad!, Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation) was chief director of the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Tomoe Makino (episode director for Tsuredure Children, Shōwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjū, Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto) directed the series. LIDEN FILMS was also credited with production alongside Tôhoku Shinsha. Taku Kishimoto (91 Days, Silver Spoon, Haikyu!! three seasons) oversaw the series scripts, and manga creator Kaoru Saki was credited with the original character designs. Shuichi Hara (Lost Song, Alice in the Country of Hearts: Wonderful Wonder World) adapted those character designs for animation, and MONACA composed the music. Yōji Shimizu was the sound director.
NOW ON AIR performed the ending theme song "Gondola no Uta" (Gondola Song).

The source manga follows Seri Koyuki, a high school student who tries to avoid strange people because he knows he will just end up being the the straight man to their antics. Enter Kabuto Hanadori, Koyuki's classmate who has chūnibyō (second-year middle school syndrome) and claims his eyepatch seals his god of destruction alter ego. Everything about Hanadori exudes the need for a straight man to keep him in check, and sure enough, Koyuki is drawn in.
Atsushi Nigorikawa (Love Tyrant, Between the Sky and Sea, Anime De Training! Ex) directed the anime at EMT Squared. Natsuko Takahashi (Love Tyrant, My Love Story!!, The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar) handled the series composition, Yūki Nakano (key animator for Kan Colle, Nisekoi - False Love) designed the characters, and Kanako Hara composed the music. The vocal duo all at once performed the opening theme song "Take mo' Chance," and idol unit AŌP performed the ending theme song "Freedom de Muda ni Muteki!!"
