ADV Announces June 26 Releases

HOUSTON, April 23, 2007 —ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime outside of Japan, is pleased to bring you the sixth and final volume of Papuwa and the thin-packed season one collection of UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie. Both titles will be available on June 26!

“The Most Hilarious Anime I've Ever Seen.” –

ADV Films is proud to bring you the closing volume of a series that has fans bursting at the seams with laughter. The sixth and final volume will be on store shelves on June 26.

Pretty boy Kotaro finds himself stranded on a remote tropical island with no memory of how he got there. Now, under the questionable care of the young Papuwa, Kotaro begins his new life of bizarre adventures in a world of transvestite fish, fruity pink dinosaurs and hallucination-inducing mushrooms. Join the zany characters and goofy good times that make Papuwa a great comedy!

Synopsis: Get ready for the last laugh! When Shintaro finally arrives on Papuwa Island, he finds that his welcome was not quite what he expected. While Tanno and Ito are delighted to be reunited with their unwilling boy-toy, the new leader of the Ganma Army finds that his arrogant attitude is less popular with some of the other island's inhabitants. With only 24 hours before the portal back to reality closes, Shintaro has precious little time to convince his brother to come back home with him. After forgetting his troubled past, Kotaro has grown attached to his carefree life of fun and friends in the tropical paradise and must be reminded of the painful truth if he is ever to be reunited with his family. However, if his memories return, he may lose control of his power and destroy Papuwa Island once again. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you might even get a spontaneous bloody nose in the farcical finale of Papuwa.

Papuwa: Reunions and Farewells (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including the final four episodes, presented in both English 2.0 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include translator notes, a character art gallery, plus clean opening animation, clean closing animation and previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.
