Anime Matsuri Says Thanks to All Who Attended AM 2008
Houston, TX – April 2, 2008 - The Anime Matsuri staff and I would like to say thank you to all who were a part of our 2008 convention.
This year was nothing short of amazing. An increase in quality, entertainment, as well attendance lead to an overwhelmingly successful year for Anime Matsuri.
A thank you to our convention location, The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, for a beautiful and exquisite space in which we were able to conduct our festivities. This was one of the most ideal places for us to hold an event like this and we are very grateful that we were allowed to have Anime Matsuri 2008 here and that little or no trouble occurred throughout the weekend.
Another thanks goes out to our special guest voice talents and artists. Our attendees were able to get a one of a kind look into their respective industries through the insight they gave at their Q&A's as well as be entertained by their unique panels they hosted throughout the weekend.
A large amount of gratitude must go out as well to our Japanese guests of honor. NIRGILIS played an astounding show Saturday night at our Main Events concert and Aural Vampire and Bespa Kumamero kept the music going and bodies moving at our late night event, Club AM. Each of the group's performances left a lasting image in our minds and we hope that that same feeling was imprinted into all those who had a chance to see them live.
A special thank you goes out to our 150+ volunteers this year, who have helped make things go as smoothly as possible at our new venue.
Last but most definitely not least, a tremendous amount of recognition must go out to our attendees. The huge amount of support and praise we received from the con-going community made it well worth our time and effort that we put into this year. A lot of our current success must be credited to those who have stuck with us through the good and the bad. We hope after our second run have retained all of those who were behind us and in the process gained even more backing from those who are new to Anime Matsuri or the convention scene in general.
Thank you again to all those groups listed above who made our 2008 run a great one. I personally hope that we can accomplish even more and keep things moving ahead into Anime Matsuri 2009.
