Fusion Festival Philly Firsts: The Asterplace & Moe Maid Café Debut In Philly @ TAKII 16

September 2nd, 2013 -- Upper Darby, PA -- While Labor Day is a day of relaxation for those that "work hard for their money", The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational is giving you brand new reasons to spend more dollars this season with the pending arrival of The Asterplace to our retro-fitted season of TAKII 16 ~Cho-ho-ho-cobo~! The Asterplace is a Tokyo Melodic Core & Japanese Anime Rock Band from Japan, based in New York City. Their band name "The Asterplace" means "creating beautiful music like a flower that blossoms every year", accurately describing their unique sound. As the sun shines to the world, as the moon glows in the midnight sky, The Asterplace plays music worldwide & has an impressive roster of appearances & performances around the globe to match. They have performed not only at New York's famous live venues like The Studio, Webstar Hall, & Arliene's Grocery, but also at several huge festivals & cons like DC Sakura Matsuri, Tribecca Film Festival, Tora Con, & many others. Their global conquest of spreading J-Rock love with an anime-infused twist wouldn't be complete, however, without a performance at "the house of hardcore Asian music", The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational!

Making their official Philly, PA debut at TAKII 16 ~Cho-ho-ho-cobo~, The Asterplace will be part of an amazing cast of performers for a J-Rock themed "Makenai: Fusion Charity Benefit Concert", singing some of their greatest hits & taking live requests from the TAKII fanatics in attendance. And in keeping with TAKII's tradition of bringing distinguished guests closer to the fans than any like-minded festival/con around, they will also be taking part in a wide variety of our festivities for the season, including our star-studded "TAKII 16 Show". That is not all, as for the 1st time ever, The Asterplace will be collaborating with D-chan to remix each of their distinct Asian Music styles LIVE on stage for the ultimate BATTLE OF THE BANDS-eque performance that will have fans spilling out into the streets of Philly as they are overcome with Asian vocal music euphoria!! "Words can't express how honored we are to perform for the fans of The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational at their 16th season celebration", says Kota (lead vocalist & guitarist for The Asterplace). "You can't make it big in the music industry unless you have left your mark in Philly & TAKII was the perfect place to make our debut in "the city of brotherly love", Philadelphia. The Asterplace has so many surprises in store & can't wait to J-Rock the foundation of this Asian fusion festival at TAKII 16 ~Cho-ho-ho-cobo~!" The 1st of its kind at The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational (or in the Greater Philadelphia area), the "Moe Maid Café" 1 of the fusion festival's newest attractions (by way of our "X-Treme X-Posé" festivity series)! The idea of a host club or a maid café had been thrown around for several seasons by co-coordinators & fans alike, but due to TAKII's high standards of fandom perfection, we didn't want to settle on throwing together "just another maid gathering". With the exception of New York, the Philadelphia area had no true representation for an establishment of this type....until Tajaun Penn came along. A veteran hospitality worker with a Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant Management, she conceptualized the idea of TAKII's "Moe Maid Café" over a period of a few years (& many traversed festivals & conventions nationwide), being sure not to rush the creative process of something so delicately epic. And after a chance meeting with TAKII Founder & Lead Coordinator, D-chan, at a JNation charity event in the Germantown section of Philly, PA, a young fusion festival festivity was born!

Open all TAKII 16 ~Cho-ho-ho-cobo~ weekend, "Moe Maid Café" will give you the most authentic maid cafe experience possible (from Japan with love). To create the perfect ambiance, "Moe Maid Café" staffers will dedicate an entire wing of TAKII 16's venue to the "Café" exclusively (away from the high-octane action & tourney drama of the weekend), using nothing but the finest Japanese home decor & accents to transport anyone who enters into a world of Japanese dignitaries of the highest order. Maids will be expertly trained in the art of customer service, "Moe Maid Café" style, in order to dazzle, amaze, & relax all "Café"-goers. TAKII attendees are invited to delight in a wide variety of Japanese-inspired drinks & delicacies (some of which are pictured below) as the "Café" maids pay special attention to your wishes & desires in a family-friendly & all-ages setting. For more info on this & other festivity happenings at TAKII 16 ~Cho-ho-ho-cobo~, swing by our "Festivities" page ASAP: http://takii.pdnmz.com/festivities!

Pre-registrations of our #1 Contender's Passes & Vendor Table Slots have picked up some serious steam, with over a dozen coming in during the final hours of our 1st pre-reg deadline! With that being said, our 2nd pre-reg deadline has already kicked off late last month (& the demand remains high). Until October 22nd, 2013, you may purchase a #1 Contender's Pass (required for entry to TAKII 16) for only $10.00 & a Vendor's Table Slot (to sell your swag & services) for only $75.00. By buying a #1 Contender's Pass (or a Vendor Table Slot), you can enjoy BOTH authentically-Japanese festivities & MUCH MORE for ONLY A FRACTION OF THE COST! We have been talking about all of the surprises that we have in store for you guys, but now is a time to get a bit more serious. Actually, a lot more serious. The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational has existed for several years now & we are about to celebrate our "sweet 16" season. We are on the cusp of expanding the organic, grass-roots way that we planned, that you all have been there with us to help grow. We have received (literally) thousands of unsolicited emails & comments over the years of how formidable we are compared to our sibling festivals & conventions. But for us to continue to bigger & better things, we need to responsibly mature. That is why the goal for this season is to pack The Rotunda with hundreds of people who have paid for a #1 Contender's Pass at TAKII 16 ~Cho-ho-ho-cobo~ come December 28th & 29th, 2013....so much so that we will have to turn people away at the door! Meeting this goal will, to make a long story short, create the opportunity for TAKII to totally blow Asian culture fandom out of the water in ways others have only DREAMED OF! For many, The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational is more than just another festival or convention in which seasons come & go. It is a sense of belonging, a place of pride, a mansion of memories....but best of all, it's a family. And NONE of what we are about to expand into achieving would be worth anything without all of you, the TAKII Family, at our side -- & for that we are eternally grateful. For TAKII 16 ~Cho-ho-ho-cobo~, you ain't seen (or heard) nothin' yet!!!!
