January 17, 2020

Japanese girls rock band BRATS performed their first live American concert at Anime Los Angeles on January 10, 2020, the same day that their new digital single “Excuser” was released on streaming platforms internationally.

BRATS delivered a 13-song set to the excited fans at the Ontario Convention Center, performing the newly-revealed track along with anime and film songs “Ainikoiyo” (To Be Hero) and “Nounai Shoukyo Game” (Slavemen) as well as YouTube hits “Doudatte yokatta” and “Kimarigoto“.

Vocalist Rei Kuromiya spoke to the audience in both English and Japanese during the concert, and the crowd brought the band back to the stage for an encore of the upcoming hard rock song “Ms. Downer”. BRATS later spent over an hour meeting fans for autographs after the show, followed by a Q&A and second autograph session on January 11.

ABOUT BRATS
BRATS is the Japanese girls band formed by sisters Rei Kuromiya and Aya Kuromiya. Their music expresses the bold, loud sound of today's Japanese youth.

Rei Kuromiya (vocals)
Aya Kuromiya (bass)
Hinako (guitar)

BRATS began in August 2011 when Rei Kuromiya became a vocalist at the age of 10. Rei's sister Aya Kuromiya plays the bass, and Aya's friend Hinako plays the guitar.

BRATS released the song “Ainikoiyo” in 2016 as the opening theme for the anime series To Be Hero, and the follow-up single “Nounai Shoukyo Game” was chosen for the feature film action comedy Slavemen.

In 2017, BRATS returned to the stage for their March 29 “Reborn” concert at Ikebukuro Live Inn Rosa, the band's first live event in over 2 years. BRATS released their double-single “Ainikoiyo”/“Nounai Shoukyo Game” worldwide on June 21, 2017. Their debut album BRATS was released July 25, 2018.

BRATS made their overseas concert debut in January 2019 at “AMBITIOUS GIRLS SERIES 1” at West Bridge Hall in Seoul, South Korea. The band performed at Wake Up Festival in Taiwan in July and returned to Korea for Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival in August. BRATS made their USA debut at Anime Los Angeles in January 2020.
