New Summer Festival Featuring Performances by 3D Characters from Beloved Japanese Anime and Games Franchises Announced

Music festivals are a staple of summer in Japan, and among them, SUMMER SONIC stands out as one of the country's premier events. Held not only in Japan but also internationally, it has grown into a globally recognized tradition.

Now, SUMMER SONIC is launching an all-new festival under the SONIC name, bringing together 3D character models from Japan's top anime, games, and VTubers for a shared showcase on one stage.

In 2025, titles such as The Idolmaster SideM -F@NTASTIC COMBINATION LIVE-, Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ ALL STAR STAGE -Dramatic Magical Story-, and Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- HYPED-UP, among others, will come together at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Halls 9, 10, and 11! Festival-exclusive food and original merchandise will also be available.

Each performance will build on past 3D live shows with unique effects and arrangements created just for this event, all delivered in a festival-style format. Don't miss this special opportunity to see some of Japan's most exciting titles unite on one unforgettable stage!

The Idolmaster SideM -F@NTASTIC COMBINATION LIVE-
The Idolmaster SideM launched in 2014 as the first male idol producer game in the Idolmaster series. Players take on the role of a producer at the idol agency 315 Production, managing a diverse group of male idols from backgrounds like doctors, students, part-time workers, and self-defense force officers. Through activities like promotions, lessons, and live shows, players nurture the idols, aiming to make them top stars.

In August 2017, the app game The Idolmaster SideM LIVE ON ST@GE! was released, followed by The Idolmaster SideM GROWING STARS in October 2021.

Currently, the franchise continues its story on the SideM brand page of the Idolmaster Portal Site, with ongoing developments in live shows, music, merchandise, and more. In July 2024, SideM celebrated its 10th anniversary.

This event features all 16 units and 49 idols from 315 Production, including High×Joker & Café Parade, FRAME & Mofumofuen, and Jupiter & F-LAGS. Get ready for passionate, high-energy performances!

Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ ALL STAR STAGE is a collaborative live show featuring the idol groups ST☆RISH and QUARTET NIGHT from Shining Agency, and HE★VENS from Raging Entertainment. This live performance, delivered by all 18 idols, is themed “Dramatic Magical Story.”

This stage will feature a re-edited, approximately 60-minute version of the 3D live show “Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ ALL STAR STAGE -Dramatic Magical Story-.” No new content will be added.

About Uta no☆Prince-sama♪
Since the release of its first game in 2010, Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ has grown into a cross-media franchise spanning CDs, anime, app games, and live events. It celebrated its 15th anniversary in June 2025. The series tells the stories of a cast of unique and charming idols, brought to life through captivating music produced by the creative team at Elements Garden.

Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- HYPED-UP (Approx. 50-minute event)

This performance features a medley of songs, including returning tracks from the past HYPED-UP series as well as the latest songs from each team featured in the film Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-! The same content will be performed across all three scheduled performances.

Launched in September 2017, Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- is a music-based rap project featuring original characters. Eighteen distinctive main characters are divided into six teams, engaging in intense rap battles. The rap music is created by leading rappers and producers from Japan's hip-hop scene, with voice actors performing the raps to bring each character's story to life through music.

Blending character-driven music with narrative-rich audio dramas, the franchise has expanded into comics, mobile games, stage plays, and anime. The 3DCG live show HYPED-UP features fully 3D-rendered characters performing live, offering an immersive experience that makes the characters feel real.

On February 21, 2025, the franchise released the film Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-. As Japan's first interactive film—where the story and ending change based on audience votes during each screening—it achieved remarkable box office success, surpassing 1.7 billion yen.
